Kilted for the Solstice
I wore my new USA Kilts semi-trad to the Winter Solstice Observance at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Lancaster, PA on Tuesday night, and received many fine compliments and looks of approval. The service itself was awesome as usual, with drumming, piping and some incredible Native American flute playing. It's nice to have such a welcoming and respectful group of people right down the street from our home.
And, despite being a lighter weight kilt, I found the semi-trad to be quite comfortable out in the cold night air.

I wore my MacDonald of the Isles Modern heavy weight out to some Solstice celebrations in town including a Yule Log, Labyrinth of Light and live bluegrass music. I was plenty warm enough.

My wife saw you there! I couldn't make the service but she was sitting right behind you. She was wondering who the guy in the kilt was that she didn't recognize. I asked her if she had introduced herself but of course she did not.
Going to the 4:30 PM services tonight in a green UK mocker. If you are going to be there we can seek each other out.
Glad you enjoyed the Solstice service. I know the people who put it together spend most of the year getting it tight.

I wore my Kilt when I performed our Yule ritual. I had on just my Kilt, Shirt and Waistcoat/Vest (And, of course, hose and shoes) and I was plenty comfortable and warm. (Although everyone else was in jackets and blankets!)
Glad you enjoyed the UU service!

Got a PM from your wife... glad her and the other ladies approved!
I won't be attending any of the services tonight, but my wife and her mom will be at the 9pm service. If you're ever at any of the Sunday services we might see you sometime!
