Kilted vow renewal...help me convince my wife!
My wife and I are planning to renew our wedding vows in September. As a new member to the kilted kommunity (sorry, couldn't help myself ) I would like to do so kilted. My wife is supportive of my kilt wearing but is resisting the idea of a kilted ceremony!
I know there are those out there who have been married in kilts, so I thought that maybe some posted pics of how dashing you or a member of your wedding party looked all kilted up that I could show the Mrs. might help. Besides, it will give you a chance to "strut your stuff"
Oh, and it doesn't have to be in your PC. ANY pics...formal, semi formal or even casual will be fine...as long as it's a wedding.
Thanks, gang

Check out www.cocelticweddings.com and go to the calendar of events. There are links to picture galleries there.

I will find pictures and try to post them. I wore my kilt to a nieces wedding in THE RITZ Paris. While waiting to go up to the ceremony a girl down the hall at the reception came to get a closer look. The proudest day was when I walked my oldest daughter down the aisle at her wedding in August 2007. My wife and I are talking about renewing our vows at our 25 in 4 years. We are hoping to do that in Scotland at a Castle if possible. That is why we are discussing it so early.
Slainte. good luck I'm sure she will come around

Here are some from my wedding, via the Formal Pix thread. My guess is that you'll find quite a few others there.

Well, I'm not getting married in a kilt since I don't have one yet in my family tartan, but my other kilts will certainly be part of the weekend. I plan on being kilted for the rehearsal dinner and at least for part of the reception once I decide to ditch my tux. I'll still keep it semi-formal for the reception once the kilt is donned, but since everyone in our family lets their hair down at wedding receptions anyway, it will be perfect any way I choose to wear it!
Good luck with your ceremony... I think once you show your wife some photos of some quite dapper kilted gents and she sees how truly formal it can be, you'll be home free.

Awww! Good luck with planning and enjoy yourselves! I'm sure you'll get a lot of photos to show her all the choices
My husband and I never had a wedding or a honeymoon unfortunately (just the way it worked out sadly). Someday, we're hoping to have the ceremony we've always wanted for a vow renewal, including a kilt (and a jabot and diced hose, if I have anything to say about it ).
Best wishes!

Consider making a handfasting part of the renewal. It's very romantic, which she'll dig.
And you can't have a handfasting without the man wearing a kilt. It's just not done.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!
