    Kilted at work? Maybe

I work at the local Jo-Ann Fabrics now, and have gone from a workplace with basically no dress code to one with. There's not exactly a uniform, but there are certain guidelines. Khaki, black, or navy pants or skirts are part of that code. Of course kilts aren't mentioned, and there's nothing really gender-specific. So I asked my boss if I could wear a solid color kilt. She put it on her list of things to bring up with her boss, the regional manager, who's the person who would make that particular decision. Don't know when I'll get an answer, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

    Cheers
    Nick

I would have thought that a working environment such as that, a kilt would not be an issue of particular concern. I don't know why I thought that.

    That's all you can do

It never hurts to ask, and the most they can say is no. Good luck on it.

Creativity is definitly encouraged, but this is something that's never come up before.

Our local JoAnne's is half fabric and half "crafts". I notice that many of the people who work in the fabric section wear things they have made themselves, and they certainly don't conform to the specifics listed above.

    Good luck!
