Kilted at work today

Our very conservative financial company has a UPAF fund raiser and we are allowed to break the rules today. I wore my Stillwater kilt.

Technically, there is no rule against kilt wearing, but there is one against showing leg skin. I would have to wear panty hose or kilt hose up above my knees any other day. Of course, there would be the visit by HR if I tried that and the ensuing debate about it.

However, for today ... it's free and open. I already put a smile on half a dozen faces of women who walked the other way in the hall ways.

My morning breakfast buddy did try to shun me a couple times. And when I offered to sit next to him instead of across the table, he said that was where the line was being drawn. I could eat with him, but not sit side by side.

5 people have walked over to my cube to "verify" the rumor. Only had 3 skirt comments so far. One lady said she liked my skirt, and I simply said I liked hers too. It's work, I have to be nice!

Tomorrow is beer judging at the Drunk Monk in Chicago. I will wear it there too. 2 days in a row! Wa-Hoo!

Sounds like fun. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to be kilted at work.

Very cool! Wish I too could show up to work kilted, even if for only one day out of the year. Have fun judging!

Will there be pictures forth coming?

Forgot my camera at home. Thought about it at one point this morning, but then forgot. My phone's camera is likely the worst on the planet!

That's a good experience. It's best to always keep a smile on your face and laugh at every comment. I especially like to offer to sit next to your buddy. (Reminds me of the time I stopped to help a buddy push his Harley off the highway. He promised to kill anyone who made fun of my skirt!)

I'll be wearing mine to work next Wednesday since I close the office early for the St. Patrick's Day parade. I always gets lots of nice comments.

But then, I'm the boss. I guess that doesn't count so much.
