    Kilting Updates

It's been sometime since I've posted here. I've been living here in Tampa Bay now for just over a month, and feel pretty settled. The weather . . . well, it takes some getting used to; I'm not one to enjoy humidity, but the A/C saves the day in that department.

I've been working for about three weeks now, and have decided to wear a kilt today (SWK Wallace). There are no rules in the dress code regarding the issue, and my supervisors seem very accepting of it so far. Today being casual Friday [Freya's Day] I'm wearing a t-shirt with my kilt. I was torn between wearing a dress shirt with hose and flashes so my supervisors, seeing me kilted for the first time, would be able to see just how nice a kilt can look, but I went for the more casual approach.

Now, I've broached the subject with management, and they are OK with me wearing the kilt, so long as it stands out as a kilt and not a skirt. So I am contemplating wearing a more dressed up kilt outfit to work on Monday. And getting more kilts :P It has not been fun wearing trousers the last few weeks, let me tell you *shudder* Once you strap on the kilt, there is no turning back!

    Regards,
    James

Good job! Many here with their supervisors would be so reasonable.

Now download Alan H's "X-Kilt" instructions, get yourself some cool cotton fabric, and make yourself some tropi-kilts!

I know the feeling! I knew I wouldn't want to wear pants after I put on my first kilt.

James, good to hear from you. We'll have to get together once you are settled. If you are in the area this weekend, there is an Oktoberfest celebration at RE Olds park in Oldsmar. Nice park right on the water and the fest is always great.

And I can't imagine going back to wearing pants!

I've never been to Florida. I do think that should I become a Kilted Floridian or visitor, it would be a warm welcome.

    Yep Hot time indeed!

Thankfully it's cooling off a little so wear the kilt isn't quite as warm as it is in July!

Look into the lads over at New World Celts...
They are always up to doing something...and always kilted!

I wish there was a way we could swap weather with you for the next 5 months or so.
