    Kilts at Burning Man

    Wow!

So that's where all the Utilikilts are (and every other kind of kilt)!

Any time of the day or night, in any direction I looked I saw at least one Utilikilt being worn. Far less often I saw tartan kilts (or sad attempts at such), modern kilts of other brands, and a few that looked like home-made attempts at Utilikilts.

Many if not most of the Black Rock Rangers wear Utilikilts (they've almost become a de facto uniform).

I previous years, I'd seen mostly Rangers wearing them, but (considering that I skipped going to Burning Man the last two years after going for 7 straight years), there's been an explosion of kilt-wearing, Utilikilts in particular.

Will that translate into an equivalent explosion of guys wearing kilts around town when they get back home?

Well, the theme of Burning Man this year was, "Hope and Fear: The Future".

I remain hopeful about the future.

This is also likely the emotions of most of those utility-kilted fellows as they put those kilts away in the closet till next year.

    Sad, but most likely true.

My only hope is that some will think to try it sometime in between.

    Here Ya' Go, PM1!

This is a photo I snagged off a web site for the 2003 burning Man gathering.

I've never been myself, but it sure looks like an event that I should plan on attending before I get entirely too old.
