Kilts come in two's? I'm a lucky man.

On another thread I said that I had sent an email to Jerry at Stillwater asking him to shoot me a message when a thrifty in my size and tartan choice came in--not really expecting personal service.

Well in short order I get an email telling me that what I wanted is in. I've lost weight this year competing in the Games etc, so I actually had to drop down a size--no problem--Jerry had me covered.

I ordered the Thrifty in MacLaren tartan and in a few day (less than a week) I'm wearing it!

When the box comes in, my wife asks what it is--I tell her and she wants to see it immediately--I put it on and we both agree it's an excellent choice for Highland games and just mashing about--and you can NOT beat the price!

    The problem:

My wife says "why didn't you get the Irish Tartan too? I mean, these are NICE and a good price--you should buy them AT LEAST 2 at a time".

I love my new Thrifty from Stillwater--and again--for my wife---I'm a REALLY lucky guy ;-)

I bought a Thrifty in Irish National for St. Pat's last year - at the price, I didn't care if beer or worse was spilled on it. But I must say I also like my heavyweight wool SWK's especially with cold weather coming (though I did wear them all summer as well.

It's nice to have such an encouraging and understanding wife. BTW where are the pictures of the new MacLaren?

She's obviously a smart shopper--buy them 2 at a time and you'll save on shipping!

Congrats, and let's see some pics...

You and I both! I bought a long plaid in the MacKenzie weathered pattern as part of my Renaissance Highland reenactment costume. (I know it's not historically perfect, but wrapped the right way and accessorized correctly, it looks almost perfect.) The box came while I was at work and my wife thought it was a new kilt. She couldn't wait for me to get home, and she opened it, and was disappointed that it wasn't a new kilt. Gods bless good wives. You and I are lucky men.

Never argue with your wife. It interferes with one path to kilted enlightenment.
