    Kilts in Denver

On saturday i had the pleasure of meeting glen again, this time at the Colorado Irish Festival.

We saw a lot of kilted men there, some pretty whacky, but many just taking the opportunity to wear the kilt.
There was an irish pipe band there wearing beautiful plain green kilts.

I overheard one women say as i passed "I love seeing all these men in kilts".

The day was capped with hearing Liz Carroll play the fiddle, meeting and speaking with her.

It was a great festival, I hope to attend more like it.

I forgot to mention that at the church convention I came for, I was surprised how many people wanted to take my photograph - just because of the kilt.

Glen, it was great having you pop in, it meant that there were TWO kilted men there instead on one.
Several people asked about you afterward, you made a fine impression.

    Graham,

I made an impression??????????I went back to the Festival today (Sunday) and Frank from Thistle And Shamrock asked where you were? Let alone my friend Linda from Celtic Celebration wanted to talk some more with you. Not even going to tell you about your friend from the Melbourne Pipe Band.

I am now able to walk back into the coffee shop without someone saying where's my friend from Australia, but a lot of others will be coming back into town this week, and I am sure it is going to start all over again.

Have fun with the rest of your trip, and guys when he meets up with you, beware, you may have a laugh or two.

Glen, I was having lunch in a park in Golden Co. today when a guy walked past and asked me if I was the guy from the festival.

Sorry I cannot post photos just yet, I'm borrowing a computer.

Glen, tel me about the guy from Melbourne, i want to know!!!!

for the others here, I saw a kilted man with a Melbourne Pipe Band T shirt, I ran to him only to find that he was from Melbourne, florida! still, he was a great guy, he pulled out a flask and shared a dram of a very fine whisky with us. (what was it Glen?).

    Graham,

I kept noticing this guy looking at me and I knew that I recognized him, just couldn't remember where. He pulled out his flask (15year old Glenlivit) and then it came to me I asked if he was from Melbourne he said "oh yeah you are friends of the guy from Tasmania." Had another little bit of that good tasting stuff, we had some more great conversation.

Well, if all of this is true - and who am I to doubt that it is - I am now even more sorry than I was that I will be missing you, Graham, when you 'hit' the London (UK) area!

(Explanation for those not in the know: I fly out to Vancouver, for The Gathering, the very day that Graham arrives in this part of the world )
