Kilts and Sweaters

Just wondering, when wearing a kilt, would you normally tuck a sweater, or leave it out?

If left out, do you need to roll the bottom under to keep it from being too long?

Do you have specific kilt sweaters?

I don't tuck in a sweater when wearing a kilt (or pants). I roll the bottom under if needed. No, I don't have sweaters I only wear with a kilt.

5 sweaters (all merino wool, solid color and argyll), and I wear all of them outside/untucked and unrolled.

A sweater should hang wherever it naturally does.

A kilt is a piece of clothing much as pants are, at least to me, I wear my kilts/sweaters without a belt though, just the sporran and the look is dressy yet relaxed.

I'm with Hospitaller. I wear a lot of sweaters, coming from a family of knitters. Never tucked, never rolled, usually no belt.

Untucked and unrolled. I always wear a belt, like I do when wearings trousers and sweaters.

If you tuck a heavy sweater into a kilt, you have an enormous amount of material tight around your waistline. Uncomfortable, and even in cold weather rather warm. If the sweater is outside, at least it can move freely as you do.

I agree. Sweaters with kilts? Yes, I have several Arrans in differing patterns and colours which I always wear untucked and unrolled. If you think your sweater is too long and needs rolling maybe it is too long anyway!

Sweaters tucked into kilts, or trousers, look dreadful to my sensitive eyes!

Being from Florida and needing a sweater is rare , though once or twice a year I do wear one, I never tuck it in and always wear a belt, both{2} are different shades of green, and light weight too.

Sweater, yes, out and unrolled, with or without a belt or suspenders on the kilt (under the sweater) or with p@nts. I have a couple Arans and a few sweater vests that look good with the kilt, among others. And we have th weather for it although not as much as some others here on the X.

ditto on every point including looking 'dreadful' although, my eyes may not be as sensitive as Hamish's.
