You realize that many sites list the same balmorals at about half the price?

The Balmoral hat, or their eight yard kilt that they call "the Balmoral?"

With the X Marks discount, I think the 8 yard kilt price is pretty good.

    Sorry about that.

Balmoral bonnets were the first thing to pop into my head, and I couldn't see spending $80.00 for one that can be purchased for $35.00.

BTW, the price for the Balmoral KILT looks good.

    Hi!

"Balmoral", in the KiltStore context, is not a type or style of kilt. It is the name of one of the Companies which tailors kilts for KiltStore.

Maybe not everyone is aware of the fact that KiltStore is not a kiltmaker but an on-line retailer (and an excellent one at that!) who has agreements with various kiltmakers in Scotland to produce the kilts and other items of Highland Dress for them. Many of the items they list are available from the stock they themselves hold, but not the kilts - they are all tailored to order.

    apologies

i should have clarified... i did infact mean to reference the kilt offered by kiltstore and made by the Balmoral Kilts @ http://balmoralkilts.com/

this is apparently a traditional cut in 13 or 16 oz in a multitude of tartans and includes a matching flash set and the booklet "Whats Under Your Kilt".

anyway, the price is comparable to others such as Alexis' that I have been looking at. i was hoping someone may have already purchased one from the kiltstore and have a report on workmanship ...etc .etc ..

    brose.

I have three kilts from KiltStore.net. Two of them are certainly from Balmoral kiltmakers: an 8yard green camo and a 7 yard dark denim - and both are absolutely superbly tailored. If I have any criticism at all, and it may be churlish to mention it, it would be with the quality of the leather straps and buckles. Whilst they are perfectly acceptable and do their job satisfactorily, they are not quite up to the standard of those used by several other Scottish kiltmakers - the leather is rather stiff. Apart from that the workmanship and attention to detail is faultless, and I would not hesitate to give further orders to KiltStore. The customer service is also First Class.

If you are considering a 'Balmoral' kiltmakers' kilt from them, I would advise you to go for it without any fears. They won't let you down.
