    kinda funny incident

I was at Safeway the other night with my fiancees little sister, kilted as usual on a saturday night. We were walking through the store, and some guy i didnt know, looks at me and says, "Man! all right!" and puts his fist out there for me to punch it. I dont miss a beat, and just punch his fist and go on my way. My soon to be, "little sister inlaw" looks over at me, shaking her head and says, "wow youre pretty popular around here! And its like that ever day isnt it?" ( she didnt so much like the kilts when I first started wearing them, she pretty much thought I was crazy for wearing them out in public) So I told hear, "yep, people respect a man in a kilt" Shes pretty much changed her mind about the whole kilt thing.

That is so true, Glen. As much as I enjoy being stopped and having a good conversation, the casual positive recognition really brings it home how most folks respect a man in a kilt as someone who goes his own way in today's world.

Yep, me too. Sound's like a scene from a movie. I picture it as perpetual in my mind.

That is awesome. My son has asked to wear his kilt for the last day of school. I want to let him, but with the lack of understanding in American children, I am worried. I am glad you are making a positive change.

Good story. Made me realize that outside of highland games, whenever I've run into another man in a kilt we invariably shake hands.
