    A Kollection question

When figuring a "kollection's" quantity, does one count all the kilts one has ever purchased, or the kilts one has on hand? Or is there room for personal interpretation in how one figures his kollection?

I think it's a personal opinion. My modest collection includes one that is a wee bit small and not worn much any longer, in fact it is being somewhat restored right now, as one of the straps was gone and there was a buckle missing. Once I get it back it will hanging in a garment bag, but it will still be part of my collection.

I have it from good authority that the only kilts allowed to count in a Kollection are those purchased on a day spelled with a "Y".

You must also still own them. It is not allowed to buy 81 kilts and give them away.

You can't count the kilt on the little bear your wife bought you last Christmas.

You also cannot count kilts in pictures, on post cards or in web articles you have downloaded. Even if you keep the picture taped to your refrigerator to remind yourself of your next kilt purchase.

Pink kilts never count in a Kollection. Marroon kilts however count double.

Any kilt over 20 years old or handed down to you from a family member counts as extra credit.

Anyone equaling the number of Kilts in Hamish's Kollection must sell them all and start over.

My Kollection, currently standing at 80 but with two more due for delivery in September, consists of kilts (traditional and contemporary) which I have had tailored for me to wear, or which have been bought 'off-the-peg' to fit me. Admittedly, I can no longer get into some of the earlier acquisitions (strange how they shrink just hanging there on the garment rails over the years!!), in which case they have been archived. Yes, every one of my kilts has been acquired for me to wear - I am not interested in buying up kilts at auction, Ebay or similar sources.

I think it depends on who's collecting them....'cause I made a fine pink mini leather kilt for a young lass and I think it stands as a most desirable one in her Kollection ...but even better when she wears it! At least that's what the lads say when they have their eyes on her

Well think of it. When you think of your cars, do you think of the one (two?) you own, or any car you've ever bought.

    Kilts on hand, I'd say.

I only count kilts that I can wear.

My original kilt is a moth-eaten museum piece so I don't count that one!

Well from what the wizard says this one counts double - -and as it was an heirloom from my father-in-law that's another credit so along with my other kilt, no I think Hamish is still fairly safe. Pity I gave my other two kilts to my boys but they had shrunk a bit like Hamish's so they fitted them better.
