    Lamont Kilt - Review

I received my Lamont Tartan 16oz Balmoral today from Scotweb.

    It looks great!

I ordered 16oz House of Edgar (Hedga) from their Nevis range.

The material was a lot cheaper than competitors but not that much different. If anything, it's the slightest bit more coarse, but that might be because it's brand new and my other kilts have been worn a few times and softened.

Without further ado, the pictures. I copied Matt on this one, except with turkeys and a chicken.

Herding the turkeys. They stay in a tight flock, so you can move them the way you move sheep around a yard.

    George,
Kilt looks perfect. This talk of chickens and turkeys may get Grant a bit jealous. he has explored chicken sporrans of the rubber variety. I wonder how a turkey would fit his style. Turkeys whether domestic or wild herd nicely. I grew experienced at "herding" them from our croplands when I was a wee lad.
    Good on you,

I've long considered making a sporran from turkey parts, but have yet to figure out how. We've got plenty of feathers and such.

    Herding turkeys?!?!?

    The kilt looks good.

It certainly looks and sounds that it is easier to herd turkeys than it is to herd cats.

Nice pictures.... would it be possible to see a close-up of the "more course" wool?
Don't know if that's possible to get in a picture.
No surprises with duty surcharges? Do let us know IF that occurs, okay?
    Thanks.

This is the difference in Locharron Strome and House of Edgar Nevis,
Notice that the threads are slightly closer on the MacGregor kilt.

No surprises with duty surcharges. It was free shipping, and I got it all for $297. Compared to $450 for Locharron Strome

You've really got to look close to see the difference.

Nice kilt! Are chickens as fast as sheep?
