    A lasses smile

As I put the finishing touches to my speech (toast to the lasses)at a coming Scottish event, which will be in praise of the fairer sex in true Burns style..I recall an experience on the beach today.

My wife and I were walking along the sandy shore just on sunset when a couple passed by going the other way.
I was wearing my new RKilts plain blue cotton with pockets.

The lass who passed glanced at my kilt then gave a smile, that's all it was, but it said so much...
The fleeting smile said "wow, I love the kilt", "wish my guy would wear one", "that's unusual to see"....I'm guessing now.
Before wearing kilts I was just another short, bald guy that only my wife would notice.
Kilts get you noticed, but you all know that.

This was the end of another day that was filled with comments and looks as I went about doing my job, all good, all positive. Some, like a visit to a Christian Bookshop was just two ladies on seeing me wanting to discuss tartans, clans, their family ties etc.

I know there are people who think a kilted guy is weird, but this is far outweighed by the positive feedback I get.

Another great kilted day, ..."to the Lasses"!!

    Graham,

Does that mean that you are now just another Kilted short bald guy walking with your wife?

I LOVE hearing things like this. Very positive indeed.

Oh Glen, trust YOU to miss the most important bit and focus on the nonsense!!!

It was the SMILE, the flash of the pretty eyes, the unsaid words, the recognition of the kilt being a great thing to see on the beach......

    THAT WAS IT....

wot am I going to do with you Glen, what?

I have folicle deprivation as well, but I've noticed that the lasses smile anyway. I think it's because the lack of hair plus the kilt makes us look very distinguished. Bet if we were single we wouldn't have any problem getting dates.

Since the kilt is an unusual site, it's natural that the chrome dome gets overlooked. Fine with me... I'm getting a bit thin on top.
