    Leatherneck Day...Tun Tavern...Happy Birthday USMC

Around the world Marines are kilting up in their Leatherneck tartan kilts today in honor of the birthday of the USMC.

I've a date with the dental hygenist today for a cleaning. It may be clumsy to get it organized in the dentist's chair, but I'll be wearing my Leatherneck tartan kilt.

    You guys??

    Semper Fi! Happy 233rd, USMC!

Mine will be on order soon and anyways, I have to work tonight so I can't enjoy the evening or make it to a Marine Corps Ball... again. This'll be the 3rd year I've been on patrol on this particular night and it's frustrating!

    Semper Fi, Marines.

I myself am a potential Edzell or Polaris tartan wearer, but my Dad will certainly have a Leatherneck Tartan for his next kilt. I already got him a belt with globe and anchor.

I always appreciated the Marines when I served, and appreciate them more now.

Not a marine, but as an ex-New Zealand infantry officer, I have nothing but respect for the Corps. May you have many more birthdays.

If anyone is within striking distance of Atlantic City, there is a Marine Corps Birthday celebration at the Tun Tavern in Atlantic City at 7 PM, with the AC Sandpipers Pipes and Drums playing. I live in the AC environs, but I'm in Houston TX on business today.

That would've been great to see, I'm sure!
