It will be a short jones, I know.

As I am wont to do, I'm talking all things kilt with my 11-year-old, and my wife doesn't look up from her knitting and asks, "What colors are your kilts?"

I explain that I'm eagerly awaiting a Macduff Red Modern from USA Kilts, which is mostly, well, red (duh). I also have a Sportkilt in a predominately gray and green Hunting universal tartan. Finally, I have an SWK standard Night Stalker (black).

"Hmm," she said, still wrapped up in her knitting. "You need something blue or green. Maybe a Black Watch?"

Who am I to argue? I went directly to the basement and ordered a SW thrifty Black Watch.

I know she wants something, but who cares? I had the green light -- you all heard it, right???

It'll probably arrive Saturday! But I am guessing you may need to do something in return for the go ahead. You are a lucky man to have such a great wife.

Rehearse: “This Thrifty is a great indoor and late Spring to early Autumn kilt isn’t it? And such a good-looking tartan! You know, the SWK Heavyweight is (lightweight) wool! Why...they go together (for choices) like sandals or boots!”

I have the proverbial “closet full of cheap (‘modestly priced’ please) kilts”, including the Black Watch in all four SWK versions. When I don’t want to spend time on deciding which tartan to wear I reach for a Black Watch.
