| | | Looking silly
In the post office today, while collecting my mail, I was served by the postmaster, ricky, wearing "raindeer antlers", a silly thing people here do to make themselves think they are celebrating Xmas.
Without thinking, I loudly exclaimed "are you going to serve me wearing something so silly??"
I knew I'd opened up a can o' worms as soon as I uttered those words.
Predictably, a voice from behind, a customer but a man I know proceeded to remind me that I was wearing a kilt and the pot shouldn't be calling the kettle black!
Of course, I dont' think a kilt looks as silly as raindeer antlers but we all had a laff in the post office today.
Come on, don't give me grief, it was the only interesting thing that happened today!!

OK, so the only thing I think you can do to rectify the situation is to get your own antlers and wear them the next time you go the post office. Then gently inform the gentleman that since you have come over to his side for the holidays it is only fair that he wear a kilt at least one day. You never know, he just might take you up on it and become a kilted official!!!

Aye Graham,
Have said similar things to leave a wide opening....last summer a young counselor asked me if I wore underwear with my kilt. I just looked at him and said, "Do you think I'm stupid?" Meaning of course I wear underwear at work...he took it to another plane with a huge grin.
I hate being my own straight man....

I was at a party last weekend and two or three people were wearing reindeer antlers that had red blinking lights. How 'bout those, Graham? Perhaps with a Royal Stewart kilt?? :-D

The antlers need jingle bells on them, too. Or maybe one with the oh-so-irritating electronic music button.
