Makes ya smile!
After last night's Kilt Night here in Charlotte, NC. I was walking back to my truck. Two elegant-looking ladies in a high-end SUV stopped while making a left hand turn to talk to me (thus blocking traffic).
"Two questions, where are you coming from and why?" they asked.
"An Irish pub, drinking beer" was the reply.
They both said they loved my kilt, asked which clan's tartan I wore, and told me their clan affiliations (a MacKay and a Chisolm). They both told me I was "lookin' good" . I thanked them and wished them Slainte Mhath, and they went on their merry way.
A nice ending to a great night out.

Damn, I always miss the fun. The only thing that happened to me was a few giggles from some teenage girls while I was waiting for the train.
I shut my eyes and turn’d them on my heart.
As a man calls for wine before he fights,
I ask’d one draught of earlier, happier sights,
Ere fitly I could hope to play my part.

Isn't the kilt a grand conversation starter?

Agreed! I don't mean to hijack the thread but it's amazing how people automatically trust a person in a kilt. I've been out many times and had I not been wearing my kilt I would have just been another face in the crowd. But with the kilt, people from every walk of life feel it's ok to come over to you and spark a conversation.
Anyways, congrats on the good comments, even though they stopped in the middle of the street to do so.
