    My Day So Far

    Hell-o My Kilted Friends,

OK even though I am a common every day Kilt wearer today just seemed to be more complimentary.

I was at first at the grocery store when this couple came up to me and asked if I knew of a good place to get some good corned beef and cabbage. Of course I mentioned several places close by that they might try.

Was walking to meet some friends for lunch when a bunch of teenagers all paid me compliments on the Kilt, and said many positives.

Waiting in the restaurant for my friends, I do not know how many people said at least I am ready for the weekend of festivities, and they wish they could too.

Went to the Library and was asked what tartan I was wearing (Isle of Skye), and was told not to be too hung over on Sunday. I said I don't drink with rookies.

So far a good day that I do all the time.

Crack me up! I don't drink with rookies...love it!

Sadly, St. Patrick's Day is the #1 day for DUI arrests in the U.S. Think its because folks don't plan on getting toasted but get swept up into the festivities...i.e. its not the alcoholics getting DUIs its the social drinkers that have one too many celebrating the Green.

Hopin' for the best for all the rabble.

And, of course anyone in a kilt MUST know where to get the best corned beef and cabbage...

I was wearing my Isle of Skye today too, a gent asked me if I was wearing it for St. Patrick's Day, when I said no he was a bit confused, we had a good wee talk though.

I just got back from an early dinner. I was wearing my saffron, and a guy with way too much cologn and an Irish brogue started up a conversation with me in the restaurant. I told about my Grandpa Leddy and his rants about the tacky St Patric's day crap and weak green beer sold as Irish. "How the bloody 'ell is green urine flavored water Irish?!?!" And then he would go to his bar in Columbus's German town with my grandmother... Yes, folks, an Irishman and a German woman. Talk about fun at Christmas time! Oh yeah- and I expect to see you all back here, sober and alive and not incarcerated, come Sunday (and Wednsday for that matter!)

As my Mother's Father use to say He was Scotch-Irish and my Grandmother would tell him he's had enough.
When I was a little kid I did not know what that meant.
