My son wore my kilt to school today
School mascot is a highlander. I have been trying to talk him into wearing a kilt to school for a while. He's a junior (high school) this year. It is homecoming week, and today is "plaid" day. He asked me this morning if we had anything plaid he could wear. I said no, but how about a tartan? He followed me to my room, and I wrapped it around him. He went back to his room asking what to wear underneath! I said what ever he felt was right. ;) He said that jeans were probably not right, so he took them off. I didn't ask what else he changed about his wardrobe.
There he was waiting for the bus in our driveway in a kilt! I was so proud.

Great story.
My elder son and I are such different sizes that my kilt would either fall off him or have to be worn like a cloak.

Good for him! Takes some self-confidence for any of us to go kilted that first time and for him to do it in High School... well done!!

Good of him! The first kilt I ever saw first-hand was on a classmate at the our prep school prom.

What a proud moment for you. That really gets the blood flowing. My son is 16 m/o and as soon as he is a little bigger we are getting him his own. I can't wait to walk side by side with my boy in our family's tartan. Good on ya cousin.
