My trip to Paramus via Phoenixville

Well, we started off to Paramus for the weekend, with a stop in Phoenixville. Now, we all know what's in P-ville. Yes, Rocky and Kelly. And the manequin. I came to look at his wares, and left with a receipt and the beginning of a jones. I ordered a new kilt. 8 weeks. How on earth am I going to get through these next 8 weeks. 8 weeks of pure hell, knowing that I have an appointment to pick up my new kilt. 8 weeks of whining to my wife. 8 weeks of reading the postings. 8 weeks of wearing my ebay Pakistani special. 8 weeks until I get my MacRae Modern with matching flashes. 8 weeks, blah, blah, blah...........

Still, out, standing in my field.

I would suggest you look for some accessories. It passes the time and when the kilt arrives, you will be ready with other goodies to make it look it's best on you.

The only thing I need now is PC jacket and vest. Maybe next year.

I agree the accessory purchase is great Jones medication...which tartan did you buy? Didja get matching flashes...how about some kilt hose, can't have enough kilt hose...one for each color in the tartan...a nice belt...a larger sporran...a matching tam....a kilt pin for every kilt like Ham advises so you don't go poking up the kilts too much...

The tartan is MacRae Modern. I ordered flashes to match. A sedate, yet colorful weave. I tried to buy a pair of hose, but Rocky has not restocked since the Celtic festival last weekend. My sporran will be custom made by a local Leather worker. I have the belt and several kilt pins. I just have to make a choice which one to use. I am ready! 8 weeks.........8 Glorious weeks. Oh, Goody! The worst part of the whole thing is that I suffer from ADHD. I usually go for the instant gratification thing. But, using my tried and true behavior modifications...........What the Heck. ROCKY! Hurry up!

Patience you will learn. Jones you will suffer. Use the force to extinguish desires you must.

BTW... the kilt hose arrived on Saturday (PDQ for ordering them on Tuesday and they come from Scotland).

See what you get for stopping in Phoenixville, but the wait will be worth it. Did you order the Semi-Trad, or perhaps the Premier?

Patience is a virtue that I know nothing about. Guiness is a virture I know a lot about. I ordered the 5 yard 13 oz wool Trad. I don't think this will work, but here goes....

Frank: It's worth the wait. I can't say I'm "fat with tanks" but I've got a couple of Matt Newsome's box pleated kilts (grey tweed and USMC/Leatherneck tartan) and a five yard, thirteen ounce from Rocky and Kelly. I never feel under-dressed in my USAKs (whether semi-trad or five yard wool).
