Thanks all. I'm working on it and will post again when I've got to the bottom of it. The problem is I can't see the problem myself so I'm flying a little blind. But I should manage.

And yes Ialtog (or anyone) I'd be delighted for anyone who wishes to publish the link to it. My concern about copyright is only that because it's free people might think it's okay to copy chunks without permission, which it's not. But links to its (new) address are much appreciated: http://clan.com/kiltsandtartan

Wow, I can't believe I somehow missed this thread. Nick, your book is outstanding! Very well thought out and informative.

I too had a few page issues when looking at it, but I'm sure that's just a wee bug that will be fixed in no time.

I plan to add a link to the book on my website.

    Dr Nick 1, Adobe 0

Great book. Thanks everso. This will end up on my coffee table so all visitors can have a look.

As regards errors that others have mentioned, I too get the self same errors when using Adobe Reader 7 for OSX. Interestingly the whole book works perfectly in Acrobat Reader 5 with OS9! It is also OK with Preview 3.0.8 and OSX. (10.4.8)

Looks like Adobe are the culprits here!

Thanks all for the input. Witht the help of a very kind guy off a usenet pdf group, I've excised and replaced five bits where 'token type' errors were being reported. Version 2.1 is now up at http://clan.com/kiltsandtartan

If anyone who's had probs with the last version could be kind enough to check it again I'd be much grateful!

What a great document about kilts. I have not found any problems with the 2.1 v. Thank you for this work.

    Nick:

Great read. I sat down to browse it, and find that I've now "wasted" (ha ha!) over an hour. Good show.

Nick, thanks for making this work available to us. I have printed myself a copy and read about half of it this morning. It's a great book, you have done a wonderful job on it.

I now have copies of four good books on wearing the kilt, Charles Thompson's, Matt Newsome's,Tom Mungall's and your book.

I've just discovered that in trying to sort out the new download address to work properly, it's temporarily not working at all. But meanwhile, the old one will still work...

Nick, would it be acceptable if I had this link included in the next newsletter our local Celtic society puts out?
I was just going to ask the same thing for our society here in Cortland.

I am not sure of how it works, but some of the images used may be themselves copyrighted... it may be prudent to include your own images (oh, and personally I can't stand the sight of Mel Gibson!!!)

Sorry Nick, this links to v1.0 of the file, not the newer version
