    New Frugal Corner kilts

I decided that I really like the Dress McLeod tartan, though I can't really afford a new tank with the state of economics right now. So I thought I would make another attempt at purchasing through Frugal Corner. Some of you may recall how my initial dealing with them went. Well they fixed everything after my first dealing, and I ended up buying two of their 16 ounce kilts for 35% off. I had purchased a solid black, and a black watch.

The solid black is quite comfortable, the pleats hold very well, and I noticed no wrinkling after sitting. The material itself feels rather soft, almost like cotton.

The black watch looks nice, though its not as wearer friendly as the solid black. This particular kilt wrinkles terribly with minimal sitting, and the material is obviously stiffer and feels more like canvas.

Lastly, when inquiring about the possibility of obtaining the McLeod this weekend I was informed that they did not have any in stock. They did, however, have another kilt available in my size for roughly $50 less than their normal price. So of course I had to purchase it! The tartan is what they are calling "New World Celt".

This particular kilt appears to be comfortably and soft like the solid black, and the pleats do not wrinkle like the black watch. I'm not sure if there is a correlation to color and wrinkles, but it sure seems that way.

Nice!! I love the New World Celt tartan. I would love to get it in PV or wool, but those don't exist. I hate the acrylic material that FC uses. Oh well. Such is life. Very nice haul. Now where are the pics of the black kilt?

    Hi Jamie,

Congratulations - it's a good looking kilt (he says through clenched teeth). I have had a 16 oz Dress MacLeod plus a 13 oz on back order since the 29th January (ordered before the end of the month to get the free postage). Mark promised me he would have new stock in before the 10th February. Well here we are 16 days later and still not in stock, leave alone the extra shipping time. I am in two minds about this - I am grateful that they are honouring the free postage offer even though I live 4,000 miles away, - but on the other hand, I have received no communication from them. I don't know whether to be worried or just annoyed and now I hear that they that they are moving somewhwere else!

    Regards

    Chas

Nice kilt! I have been thinking about adding that tartan to my want and need list. I am going to order Frugal corners universal masonic tartan, since they dont have size 42 in stock. When all is said and done I will write a fair and "no spin" post. Anyway thanks the photos, I hope my purchace goes as well as yours did!
