    I never imagined there would be so many variations. Keeping those Scots looking crisp and dapper has got to cost the MoD quite a bit.

    That's a keeper! Thanks for the link. At the end of the manual there is a good read on the uniform history.

    The Hackles are all that are left of those great old regiments. They didn't even get to keep their old cap badges when they were reduced to battalions in the new super-regiment.

    The only bright point is all the ex-MoD kilts in the other tartans that will be coming on the market.
