    New tartan and kilt

This is the official unveiling of the new Fitzgibbon Red tartan and kilt made by Matt Newsome. I designed the tartan to resemble Fitzgibbon, though in reds rather than greens. The tartan is 16 oz Dalgliesh and the kilt is a 5m knife pleated to sett. As ever, Matt's work is superb and I am delighted with the kilt. Here's a few pics:

    Closeup of the tartan:

One for the traditionalists. How I most often wear the kilt in summer:

Finally, the friendly deer wanted to get in on the act:

Wow I really like that tartan! It has a wonderful "early" look to it, what DC Stewart called the "attenuated" look of 18th century/early 19th century setts.

It looks good in all those combinations!

Wonderful! I absolutely love the way the kilt goes with casual, day wear, and formal. Well done!

Very nice, Andy. I especially like the Harris Tweed with waistcoat and striped tie.....Very nice, indeed.

    Andy,

Nice to see photos of the kilt in action!

I have to tell the rabble that the photographs don't really do justice to the subtle contrast between the different shades of red Andy has designed in his tartan. It really comes out when you get a close look at the tartan in person.

    Enjoy!

Beautiful tartan, and great looking kilt! Could you post either a detail shot or rendering of the tartan? It's wonderful.

BTW: This only deepens my desire to own a Newsome kilt.
