nightstalker material

ive recently got into the nightstalker tartan and well, i want it in a great kilt. anyone know where I can find material or is SWK only kind of thing?

Cannot help you with the Nightstalker tartan but I've seen* Canadian casual kilts swatch books and have seen 3 different black shadow tartans (black on black).



*substitute word as I couldn't spell druel, drual, drooel, drool.

I believe nightstalker is an SWK exclusive, but as mentioned above, there are similar tartans available. Don't know if you could get what you are looking for from Stillwater.

There are quite a few gray on black Tartans out now. The most famous of these is Highland Granite from Lochcarron. But each mill now produces very subdued Gray and Black Tartans.

There are also some really great Black on Black Tartans. The most noteable are Ben Dubh (The Black Mount) , Black Shadow, and Black Isle from Marton Mills.

I have made kilts from the Ben Dubh Tartan and love it. 100% Scottish Wool and the pattern is magnificent. A bear to pleat but in the sun the Tartan jumps out at you as you walk and is a wonderful surprise to others who don't realize what it is.

I have begun to carry it as almost a stock Tartan along with the HBC Tartan. The only two I almost always have on hand.

I've bugged Jerry about that a couple times. He's told me that he refuses to do it, even in a custom order. He considers it to be selling nothing but bulk fabric, and he doesn't deal in bulk.
