Not Embarrassed Anymore
Another post reminded me.
When I first started wearing kilts and needed a public rest room I'd seek a stall just to relieve my bladder. Somewhere along the line I just started stepping up to the urinal and hiking my kilt.
Haven't worn pants in about three months (lost track, guess that's good).
I think the confidence comes as kilting experience builds.

Ron, I agree. Looks like we have both been trouserless for about the same time (3 months). I think how you dress when wearing the kilt, and how you present yourself has a lot to do with it. I always try to use a complimentary combination of colors with the shirt and hose that I wear so that the kilt really stands out as the centerpiece of well coordinated colors. In my opinion, that is what prompts the compliments that you get from others.
I'm still waiting for that first negative response. When it happens, I feel that I have gained enough confidence to handle it gracefully. Happy kilting.
