    Odd exchange at the corner

Whilst walking back from the Pride parade last evening, I had to wait for a green light before crossing the intersection. A male/female couple stepped up to wait as well. He asked me whether I ever 'put on a show.' Confused [as I often am], I asked what he was talking about. He said something like, 'In that kilt, do you ever just let it fly and give everybody a show?'

I told him, 'Well, no. There's nothing under there that people haven't seen before--nothing's missing and there's nothing extra.'

After that ice breaker, he said that he had been wanting to try a UK but didn't know whether he could do it. He asked his lady whether she thought he could pull it off; she said, ' yeh, I didn't know you wanted to wear one of those! Let's get one, babe!'

A few more odd comments followed about stuff like whether 'the boys' were staying cool [it was hot, but breezy] before I could escape into the street.

    And that's Austin.

Keep Austin Weird is the official unofficial slogan for the capital of Texas. Really!

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Ah, doesn't really bother me. A little odd, but not quite rude.

It was an olive drab Alpha Kilt, model Edinburgh. BTW, they're on sale now.
