Thumbs up Official word from my HR dept...

With various posts here and there in the recent past regarding our kilted gents having issues with employers, I decided to just go ahead and ask my HR rep what our company has to say about it. I've worn the kilt on a few occasions (e.g. Tartan Day) without incident, but figured I'd just ask.

After my rep conferred with a few other people in HR, her official response was, and I quote:

    keep rocking that kilt!
Now I'm tempted to wear it more often!

Excellent, obviously an enlightened employer who knows that staff perform best when they can dress comfortably.

Ask for it in writing (or save the email). Tides can turn, and it's nice to have proof you were green-lighted.

Congratulations on the wearing of the kilt at work.

My employer is fine with it, the government regulators are not. (O.S.H.A.) I wear the kilt to work and slide into trousers for the work hours and leave kilted.

That's AWESOME! I too have been trying for months to get approval at work. Yet despite all the "diversity" they preach I still can't wear them regularly.
