One Comment and a Question I didn't expect.

This afternoon my lady and I went to a play. As is our custom we dressed for the occasion. She in her kilted skirt I in my kilt. As we were going into the area where the stage is one usher, a very good looking woman in a skirt, commented on our clothing and said that she had just watched "Braveheart" and thought the Scots were barbarians, and then she proclaimed that she though the men in kilts were verrrry sexy.
The question came from a gentleman (older 70+) in the bathroom who asked: Is there a fly under there? At first I didn't quite know what he was asking until he said do you just lift it up or is there a fly.
A bonus was the lady who asked after our clothing and really wanted to learn all about it as well as the president of the theatre board who let us know he really appreciated our attire and the respect that it showed to the efforts of the folks at the theatre.
All and all, another great, if not somewhat amusing, day kilted.

I've seen a guy who had a zipper fly behind the sporran of an otherwise traditional looking kilt.
Some of the Midas range of non-trad kilts and skirts for men do include front zipper flies.

Saves you having to lift the apron I suppose but somehow it can't look right (at least if not hidden by a sporran!)

No, no, no.... ouch!!! If you go regimental I can see a "something about mary" moment!!

Besides, wouldnt' the zipper fly in this case just add extra work? Maybe this is a subconcious attempt to make it seem more "manly" by adding in a feature common on pants?

And I'd assume there would need to be 2 zippers, one for the over apron and one for the under. No way, too much work.
