    ordered 4th Utilikilt

Some of you might think I'm out of control...but....

I only have ONE kilt! It seems just wrong....how can I live that way?

I had ordered two more but I hadn't heard anything.

So I called Utilikilts today and I asked about numbers 2 and 3....they are MAKING them for me! OH NO! I CAN'T WAIT!!!

So....I asked what they had in stock and they are shipping me a heather gray Mocker and I should have it by the end of the week. I'm a happy camper. :-)

He didn't know why they did not have a booth at the Highland Games in Flagstaff, he was quite surprised when he heard that. My plan was to buy something there, but this worked out just as well.

Oh....and for those of you who think maybe I should try "real kilts" let it be known that I am a true KLUTZ. I fall, I run into things, once I totally ripped apart a pair of Dockers trying to get through a doorway and I have already closed my Utilikilt in a car door so I don't know.... I usually don't wear "fine clothes" because of what I will do to them.

I had wondered about that myself
I was actually planning to buy my first UK there. Oh well, I ended up leaving with a solid kilt none-the-less. I bought a cheapie, olive green, canvas kilt from a small booth there.

    Hey Brad,

Guessing that's be a Buzz Kidder kilt? They're down in Sierra Vista...I think...

    http://www.buzzkidder.com/page/page/838430.htm

Or, they used to be...now it says San Antonio...?

But then there's this, Buzz Kidder Originals in California??

    http://www.buzzkidderoriginals.com/

And the guy at the booth in Flagstaff had a sign that said David something selling Buzz Kidders....

    Wonder what's going on?

UK had a staff and sea change this spring. I was hoping to work a few events here in Oregon and was actually scheduled to work, but they sent out an email stating that they had cut down the number of events this year by something like 75%. Check their web page for the event schedule.

Yes, that would be the vendor. I couldn't remember for the life of me the name. I bought the olive canvas. The guy at the booth, unfortunate to say but true, was pretty much oblivious to the product he was selling. He tried talking to me as if I was a completely new to kilt wearing . Don't get me wrong, I'm rather new compared to many (especially on Xmarks.) But, I consider myself pretty well educated through research (more than a small part is due to Xmarks.) I was even wearing my "nice" Henderson wool kilt. I went ahead and tried the canvas kilt on over my Henderson and he kept trying to position it on my hips. He also informed me the bottom of the knee was fine. When I asked any question as far as the measurements he replied "sure" with a shrug of the shoulders.

Ah well, I just kinda fitted myself to make sure the off the peg measurements meant the same thing I was used to. I'm very happy with the kilt. Matter of fact I'm wearing it today paired with a $4 driver cap in an olive/white tartan pattern from Wal Mart! I'm a huge advocate for Wal Mart hats, as the price is almost nothing and they seem last forever. I'm just pumped when I can find one to fit me (I wear a 7 7/8 - 8 in a baseballl cap!)

At least you got "waited on." Have been to games where whoever was hired to work for Buzz Kidder just sat in chairs, the display kilts had badly curled pleats, and they mostly seemed to be selling t-shirts.

Where ever their sporrans come from they're a work horse. BK seems to be a line that is carried and sold by a lot of other vendors. Some people don't like them, but I do like those drop down leather sporran holder straps they sell that let the sporran hang from your belt....don't use them much, but like them.

And....the trouble with buying kilts from vendors at highland games is that you usually don't buy other kilts to soothe the jonesing because there is no jonesing....

    Ron,

If you click on the wholesale link at buzzkidder.com they mention becoming a Buzz Kidder retailer. I have 3 Buzz Kidders that I purchased through the Scottish Tartans Museum.
