    ordered first tartan kilt

Ok I finally did it. I got the kilt bug this past summer and started out with an Amerikilt. I loved it so another AK followed in early fall. I resisted getting a tartan kilt because I wanted to wait until I could afford something nice in my family tartan. I know, I know, you can wear any tartan you want but for me it's either my clan tartan or a universal one. The problem is I never saw any universal tartans I really liked in the cheaper materials. That is until Rocky received the grey granite tartan in PV. As of today, I have ordered my first tartan kilt. It's only a casual model but I wanted to take this one step at a time.

Let see.... next I could get something in a more traditional cut. Then maybe even wool .....

Congratulations, Jim, on the purchase of your first tartan. Over time you may find that you enjoy having a variety of kilts including non-traditionals such as the AK, traditional styles in contemporary materials, and wool traditionals. Much depends on how often you wear a kilt.

I agree with Newkilt... the deeper you get into the kilt addiction, the more kilts you want. It starts different ways with different people (some people only want a family tartan, some just want a cheap tartan kilt, yet others only want a solid contemporary), but oft times ends up the same way... a closet full of different styles and tartans and solids.
