    Orion Nebula tartan

    Hi kilted community,

For those familiar with astronomy know that Orion Nebula (Messier 42) is one
of the most spectacular object visible in the sky.

As I'm also an avid kilt fan without any celtic blood, I decided to honor that beautiful winter sky object by creating a tartan honoring it.

Of course It is not registered. I can't afford the cost to do it.

Here is the link to see it :

I love the night skies and their lore and I love tartans and their stories.
Nice tartan colors, and thank you for thinking of "mother nature" and most of all as a kilt maker, thanks for making it symmetrical!

I like it! I love Scotwebs tartan design program. I made one based on the fall colors of Colorado. What fun!!

    Meaning of the colors

    @ Tartan Tess

Here are the colors combination and their meaning in the correct order.

Magenta : 68 --- Dominant color of Orion nebula

Green : 22 --- Light emitted ♠from excited minor components by background radiation

Scarlet : 16 --- Light emitted by hydrogen atoms excited by background radiation

    Blue : 18 --- M43 adjacent nebula next to M42

Yellow : 12 --- The stars forming the trapezium in the nebula core

    Hoping that will satisfy you.

    Lovely tartan.

Pity the registration costs are a little astronomical for you.

That deserves the "pun of the day" award.

I like the tartan! It has an old-school look to it.
