    out to dinner

Me and my girlfriend went out to dinner the night before last at a place we go to a lot. I was wearing my new USA Kilt, casual Scottish National, a nice buttoned short sleeve black shirt, my kilt belt and clan buckle and a casual black leather sporran. Dinner went well and we go to leave. As were walking out of the place and down the stairs, theres a couple standing on the landing outside. The woman looks up at me and says, "hey! nice outfit! I like that!" her boyfriend mumbled something unintelligible. I said, "oh, thank you" me and my girlfriend smiled at them and turned around and walked the rest of the way down the stairs. Over my sholder I hear the girl, Im not sure if was his wife, girlfriend, or just his date for the night say, "Hey, I can appreciate that kind of thing" the guy continued to talk quitely, and she kind of blew him off. Me and my girlfreind laughed and took off. I could tell the guy was pretty pissy though, that his date was more intrested in the "Man in the kilt" than him. Oh, those poor insecure bastards lol

The ironic thing is that if he had said to her, "Yeah, that is pretty cool. Good for him!" he would have scored points with his girlfriend. But, by doing what he did...

Great little story; confirms what we all know on this site that it takes a man with balls to wear a kilt!

    Wink It's a curse

Ya....It's the curse of turning a young lady's head while she's on a date with another man. It's somethiong all us men in kilts just have to learn to deal with

Behind all of the machismo... alot of men are pretty insecure people. Perhaps this young fellow has been enlightened a bit by the experience..

Unlikely, unless they breakup. He's missing a bit of self esteem and she's unafraid to speak up.

She'll be better off away from his stifling undertow.
