I guess many of us are show-offs at heart (or we just don't give a d*mn what others think)

    Fine children in Minnesota!

Minnesota where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average.

Show off, me? In reality I am sure. Great laugh from a smart young lady.

Aye, where baking chocolate chip cookies is concerned, give her any answer to keep in her best graces.

I find children's honesty and curiosity to be one of life's greatest treasures. I always give them polite and truthful answers, though sometimes in a much more diplomatic form than the answers I would give to an adult.

I think I fall into the latter catagory myself.... I do have honorable intentions by wearing a kilt... But I enjoy the fact that it's intimidating to some.. I am 6'2" and about 270 and walking around in the kilt, I make that eye contact, and watch how quickly others turn away.... While the girls smile like the Cheshire cat. I am really an easy going guy... But I do not care what others think, as long as I am respectful and dress proper.

I agree we talk to children in a more diplomatic way, because they do not understand. We talk in a manner where they learn something.... Even if it's admiting we like to show off...LOL

Red face When I was out walking the neighbourhood the other day...

I was with my daughter and walked by one of her acquaintances' houses while wearing my new SWK, and was promptly asked why I was wearing a kilt---it was my birthday present---closely followed on by The Question from the neighbour lady, whereupon I instantly felt my pleats rising behind and heard my 6yo daughter's confident voice declare, "He's not wearing anything under there." I then, bemusedly, had to a have a brief conversation with her about polite behaviour in public; much to the amusement of the neighbour lady (who seems convinced I "crave attention"). I never expected to be 'kilt-checked' by my own daughter... who knows my habits very well to begin with. I'm going to have to be extra vigilant 8 years on, perhaps earlier at Highland Games!
The spirit of the Declaration of Arbroath (6 April 1320) abides today, defiantly resisting any tyranny that would disarm, disperse and despoil proud people of just morals, determined to keep the means of protecting their families and way of life close at hand.
