A Package From Phoenixville, PA ...

Received my package from USA Kilts today after finding out the apartment manager had it for two days. (Grrr ...)

One each black Argyll coat and matching waistcoat along with a Lion Rampant Kilt pin! I just couldn't resist due to Rocky and Kelly's outstanding pricing on these items!

Very good quality, nicely constructed and the fit is just perfect. I had talked with Rocky via phone before ordering so my 46 regular was a perfect fit for a 45 chest, 34 sleeves (shirt size) and 40 waist.

Pictures to follow as soon as I have time to re-learn how to tie a bow tie!

BTW, has anyone purchased a bow tie at a men's store lately? Yikes! ($25)

Now to get a sporran ... (another Yikes!)

Cheers,

Ray

I recently bought two bow ties from ebay, one black, and another with a pattern, as I could not find a self tie bow tie in any shop close to me, they tried to flog of fthe clip on type. They were a good price on ebay.

I used to have this great page clipped from an Esquire magazine the theme of which was "how to do absolutely everything"...it was a step by step photo sequence of how to tie a bow tie by US Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, a gentleman famous for wearing the bow tie. I had it permanently affixed to the mirror UNTIL my wife went on a cleaning binge and threw it out...

...obviously it was a useless piece of junk cluttering up the dresser top.

And the difference between men and women is...

Best

well, sounds like you already got your tie, but JC Penny has a tux shirt, black tie, and the little black button embellishments for $27.

For the sporran, try one from Phoenixville, PA. I have one from Rocky that I use with the Argyle that I received from USA Kilts. Likewise the fit is perfect and the look is great.

Ray,

I suspect that the rabble will be seeing this jacket on January 17th

So fess up! Where in the Bay Area did you find a Menswear store selling real-honest-to-goodness-no-stupid-clip bow ties?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Cheers

Jamie

Men's Wearhouse. Newpark Mall for those in the bay area.

Whew! I feel better now. Confession made. And yes, you will be seeing it come Jan. 17th, along with a full dress sporran of some type or kind.

Either from Rocky or Matt. Not sure just yet. Both give such great service.

(edit)
The tie, in black 100% silk, was $20 USD. The Significant Other and myself went to JC Penney, Macy's and Sears only to find none had Bow Ties of any type or kind. Will have to check that on-line about Penney's as a source. The tie came with instructions that I will scan/post for all to print out.

That I'd like to see. . I have never noticed formal wear at our Penney's stores. Hmmmm, nor did I know that Warner has a line of foundation garments called "Tuxedo."

Failing locally--and believe me, I've seen some odd bow ties in shops--- I rely on beautiesltd.com (Beau Ties, get it? (groan)). Should you require a partridge in a pear tree on a bow tie, they can fix you up; but they also have the classics.
