For the patient ladies in our lives.

Alright gentlemen (and ladies),

In the spirit of honesty, I confess to being a sewing professional in a different market, but stitching is my primary recreation. I'd like to know how the fair 1/2 of our species emerges from the walk in closet, while we the pleated proud, strut about in a dizzying array of easily purchased products and styles.

I waited until my late 30's to wear the family tartan. My wife prodded me for years, but her triumph is somewhat bittersweet. My wardrobe is fast outpacing hers. So I cobbled this number together so we can host a field event this weekend. The belt is mine, but the 7 pounds of heavy pleated wool is all hers. It's my first attempt, but sooner or later I'm gonna get another itch to stich.

This will suit Beth for use in the rough, but fall and winter are coming, and the gala events will be here soon. So, ladies and gentlemen, let's see photos! I need some more inspiration, that I may start fabric shopping again. (Yes, the boots will remain- it's an all day shooting event, and she'll be a team captain with 3 other well armed females.)

Cheers, Kevin.

Looks fine ... but, if you have as many pleats as a regular kilt, it must weigh a ton!

Welcome to the fray! And thanks for posting such lovely pictures. I'll echo the request for more details, too.

It looks very well put together. I agree, it looks like it weighs a ton.
