    The clan Jardine tartan looks alot like that with muted brown and grey. It's tough to judge at this distance.

    Great photo anyway, thanks Daneel, nice to see another celebrity enjoying a kilt. I've love to know the story behind that.

    As Blu wrote, it IS hard to tell from this distance, but to me it looks a lot like the Campbell of Argyll Weathered tartan.

    FYI, a bit of creative Googling came up with the info that the pic was taken on the Albert Memorial, London in August of 1995, to celebrate the London opening of a play at the Almeida directed by Alan Rickman. The play was called 'The Winter Guest', and was written by Sharman MacDonald.

    I don't suppose that they allow just anyone to clamber about on the statuary <g>.
