    Picture requested today

I wear a kilt to Church Services at the Post Chapel most every Sunday, and today I wore my Holyrood tartan, with a blue shirt and tie with a black vest.

I often assist in the collection of the offering, as I did today. I and another usher went back to the Chaplain Assistant's office to count. Today was the first day for a new Chaplain Assistant. She is a young private first class and when she saw the kilt, she said she HAD to get a picture!

So after concluding our official business, one of her colleagues took a picture of us together, then we went outside and she took another picture of me alone.

I think it brightened her day and it certainly didn't hurt mine to have this young 19-20 year old asking about the kilt! (I'm in my early 60's)

When I told my wife about it, she said she was going to keep a closer eye on me. I told her not to worry. (We just celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary with a long weekend in Vienna, Austria.)

Anyway, more evidence of the Power of the KILT (and the nice people you meet and talk with because of it.)

    Tom

    Tom,

Don't sell yourself short! It's not just the kilt, but the way that a gentleman wears it.

    Cheers

I agree, part of the mystique of the kilt is the man who wears it. A gentleman adds a certain flair and (dare I say it,...yes I will,...and no pun intended) panache to the kilt.
