pizza run
so Sunday I played for a funeral, and on the way home with my new found cashola...my wife asks me if I would pick up a couple of pies for dinner.
so i stopped by little ceasers and waited about 5 mins. or so for my order, and a father and daughter were sitting on the bench waiting for theirs.
well Tucson being a close to the border town you tend to hear alot of Spanish. and although I couldnt hear what he said to her after her quizicle look at me i did see him make a movement like he was playing a bagpipe
that and the guy behind the counter said " are you Scott" ...yeah? " your order's ready...you had a Deep dish and a regular right?" uhh....no just two regular peperoni pies.....
the first part made me laugh cause ...the automatic association of kilts and pipes..even if it was true ( my pipes were in the Jeep)
the second one made me laugh cause I think he thought my name was Scott due to the kilt!! the kicker is ....he saw me order and I never gave my name!!
Oh I almost forgot...an older gentleman saw me as I came in to the joint...looked me up and down with a half grin on his face and said " you dont see a kilt that often anymore" to which I replied "thats too bad!... it would be great if you saw one everyday!!"

Good answer to the older gent. I have got into the habit of saying:
"I'm trying to change that."
But I really like that, it does sound like a regular day though, I wish I had a dollar for every time someone asked me if I played the pipes.

The bag piper query opens up a whole world of rude and ungentlemanly replies. Daily I work on that serenity thing.....
Sounds like a good outing all in all. Cash, Pizza, admiration, and the amusement provided by the confused mortals. Well done!

I often stop in to Little Caesar's to grab two 'za's when on the way home from Sunday dinner at my mom and dad's...not that my mother is a bad cook but by the time we dally and hang out, it's later in the day and I don't feel like cooking when I get home. The place is usually staffed by a couple of very South Side types...usually women...and I love the way that they really try to "not" notice the kilt. I expect that they have a lot to say after the door closes behind me but I love acting nonchalant while they're trying to act nonchalant about it.
Incidentally, the Canadian version of Little Caesar's is, I guess, called "Pizza Pizza" and several years back we scored the ultimate combo meal for something like sixteen or seventeen bucks US while in Toronto: Two pizza's, crazy bread, sauce, a small bucket of wings and sauce and a six pack of RC in the cans...yet another reason why we love Canada!

That's only on the east coast... out west, we actually DO have Little Caesar's, but its not that popular.
