The power of the kilt Part...whatever
My wife and I decided to make a trip to Denver a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. While there I/we received many positive comments on the kilt. We were having dinner Sat. at a nice restaurant in LoDo (lower downtown Denver) and just had our coffee delivered when someone tapped me on the shoulder. A gentleman said that anyone wearing a kilt and doing it so handsomely had to get a gift. He was the head of marketing for several single malt scotch labels and just wanted to tell me how great it was seeing someone in a kilt. He handed me a large snifter of Lagavulin 16 and he said that he was going to be doing a scotch tasting in Glenwood Springs in April and invited me to join the tasting. I told him that Glenwood was just down the road from where we lived and that I was planning on going to the April tasting. It's a fund raiser for a local charity and I've been to the last four. I am always amazed at the numbers of people who view kilts and kilt wearing in a favorable fashion. We finished our coffee and I took an extra long time savoring the single malt and the warm feeling I got from my encounter.

Nice! I was in the Brown Palace last fall and the Bell Captain approached me asking what clan, while I did not get a snifter of whiskey, I did get a nice compliement. I like LoDo and the front range in general.

The thought of free scotch has converted 3 or my friends from snickering school girls to being open to purchasing their own kilt! Aahhhhh the power of scotch.

Kilts and whisky definitely go well together.

So does kilts and whiskey. No matter if it's whiskey or whisky it makes me friskey. Or is it frisky? Hmmm

I've received a few samples, notably from Famous Grouse, while kilted at various events. These samples were however measured in ounce glasses and not in bottles. Not that I want to seem ungrateful to The Bird- and anyway, handing out whole bottles is probably punishable by imprisonment or worse here in Ontario

The very first morning I wore my kilt, a lady at church insisted that I taste a sausage roll (delicious!).
The second morning, a grandmother spotted me and give me a double thumbs up. Her two granddaughters also gave the thumbs up.
Gotta love it!

Great story. My girlfriend got me a bottle of The Balvenie 15 year for Valentines day.
