Pre-start on my Kilted Trip to Scotland

When I first learned of The Gathering in Edinburgh 2009, I vowed to attend. It would mark 5 years since I had visited Scotland. I was new to this forum and encouraged by my fellow kilt wearers I declared I would wear the kilt the entire time in Scotland.

Monday as I reached for my kaki trousers to dress for work (manager of the gated community of active adults) I hesitated. Nope, I’m going kilted for this week, too!

This morning, I dropped my Ford Bronco II for a state inspection at the local Ford dealer. Within two hours I got a call that my 23 year old truck with 241,000 was ready to be picked. Wow, no repairs I thought to myself.

After paying for the service, I was waiting for the truck to be brought up to me. One the techs, said to me “you must own the Bronco.” Right, I said how did you guess. “It has the flag of Scotland on the rear window”, he replied. We talked about Scotland and upcoming Highland Games in Virginia. I was a very pleasant encounter.

Who says that only 4-leaf shamrocks (or is that clover?) brings one good luck?
