    Prince Charlie Coat & Vest

    Hello All,

I was at the British Shop in Buffalo, NY yesterday. I saw they had some Prince Charlie coats and vests for sale for $150.00 US. The lady said they were a slightly lighter Barethea than some other coats. Seems like a pretty good coat to me for the money for a coat you may not use all that often.

Their web page is: http://www.britishshop.com/ Those coats don't appear on the web page, but you could get the phone number. They are planning on attending the Stone Mountain Georgia festival this weekend.

    Thumbs up

Couldn't find the jackets you mentioned, but did find some silver buttons I have been looking for. Thanks for posting the link!

The $150.00 PC are not listed on the web page. You need to call or e-mail them for info.

Before making the purchase you might want to ask the vendor about the country of origin of the jackets. Some, which are made in China, are of very poor quality as regards both the cloth and the sewing. While I will admit $150 is an attractive price, for the same money you could probably a find a used jacket, of much better quality, either here on XMTS or on ebay.

MoR raised a good point, so I just pulled my Argyle and waistcoat (from the British Shop) out of the closet for a look. The country of manufacture isn't labeled - there's no label at all, except for the size - but the quality of the cloth and the sewing is apparent.
The British Shop does sell quality products ... though usually I can find products of the same quality for slightly lower prices elsewhere. If they're selling PCs for $150, the jackets will be quality, but they don't think the jackets will sell in the standard price range.
I am easily moved for sympathy for dogs, far more so than for humans, because dogs do not understand. There is no way to explain that you will return, that the vet will make it all better, that they cannot go shooting today because that is not what today is about. They cannot work out that their misery is finite and will some time end, and so their misery is magnified.
