Psst! Hey Mac, Tartan fix... over here. SHHHH!

Yeah, so that's about how it went on Ebay the other night. I won this one for $20. It's ok... right?? I mean, it was a great deal. That's ok right??? haha.

I must say that it's better than I expected. The fabric is labeled as 65% Viscose Rayon/ 35% Acetate. A wee bit conerning as far as flamability. But, probably no worse than a lot of other things. The fabric is on the coarse side, not too unlike a 16 oz. wool (similar in weight too.) It has shallow pleats, so probably 4-5 yards of fabric. It also sports a hemmed edge, no selvedge. But, the blind hem is just that... no visible trace from the outside. I bought it knowing it was one size too big. But, I'm thinking about punching a hole at the inner point on the straps of maybe having the Mrs. move them. It's simply a $20 kilt. Oh, and if unfamiliar with the tartan, it's the Scottish National. It really does look great worn. Very pleased. I guess one of those "Ebay Gambles" gone good. Not sure who makes it, but I'm sure it's a Pakistani knock-off of sorts.

That's one of Robin's antler pins on it.

Looks good! My biggest complaint about the "pakistini"-ish kilts is that usually the vertical stripes in the tartan are harder to see than the horizontals (for example, the vertical blue block is hard to see within the horizontal green).

Certainly not bad at all for the price though.

    And how about the pleats?

Ah, the pleats are shallow, but they're true and hang well. But, what can ya do uh?

I used the wrong image codes, and the forum won't let me edit them. You can get the URLs out of what's there and see them though.

I know. But, I had been loading HTML on my Myspace all night. When I loaded these here, I simply copied the HTML from photobucket by accident. I realized immediately. But, for whatever reason, the forum software kept processing when I tried to "edit."

Oh, and thanks a bunch Ronstew!

I'd like to see the pleats, but my initial reaction is that you got a super deal. Congrats!
