Sure buddy. If you're running windows, bring the picture up in the Paint program... bmp, jpg, gif. You can bring-up the "Image" button... hit "Attributes" slide to see the pixels that it's currently at... then hit the "Stretch/Skew" slide to shrink it down. You'll need to do the math to have it fit the required size for this site.

Make sure to "Save As..." a jpg or gif. Jpg's are often smaller in size, and will fit the site requirements better.

That's the best that I can help without knowing your programs.

OK Jimmy, you hit the Windows side now my turn on Linux...open PIC in GIMP and right click on image select SCALE IMAGE then hit the up/down arrows to scale the image to size. Next hit save as and select place and SAVE BY EXTENSION (PNG works best) and name. If asked about exporting then select that then OK then OK to save...DONE!

Many thanks to Jimmy for the advice. I have just managed to upload an avatar and used the same process to put some pics in my gallery ( at last !)

I know Hank. During the day I'm Mr.M$ but at night I turn into a kilted penguin!

My note was just so no one could claim they were disenfranchised!
