Angry RANT...because you lads and lasses will understand

If ONE MORE PERSON asks me if I play bagpipes, or makes piping motions with their forearms, I'm going to...to...to...to....

    ....to go BUY a set!

GAAAAAAAAAA. And then I'm going to set myself up outside their window and bloody well PRACTICE at 2:00 freaking AM!

***I am geting tired of this question, in case you can't tell.***.

OK. we return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Actually, I started piping lessons because of that. I see it as an opportunity now to advertise for the Frederick Pipes and Drums and St. Andrew's Society of Mid-Maryland, which is based in Frederick.
Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out.

Had a guy ask where my bagpipes were a while back. He was with his GF and some friends. I told him "Under my kilt. Wanna blow it" The women cracked up and he turned red as hell and walked away.

I love pipe music of all kinds, Highland, lowland, Uilleann, the lot.
So if my kilt makes people think of the bagpipes, well, there are worse things to be associated with!

Well said, Graham -- at least they are associating the kilt with something Scottish!

This question really doesn't bother me anymore, mostly because it least shows some awareness of Scottish culture and the association of the kilt the pipes. Besides, pipers are usually popular fellows!

I can think of much worse comments...

    Cheers,

    Todd

Sigh....one more thing to spend what's left of my money on...

A set of highland pipes is probably about a cool grand...Uilleann pipes? I think that there are several cars on the market that are less expensive than a set of Uilleann pipes but, boy, when you hear them played well it gives you goosebumps.

Pipes may be the one thing I spend more money on than kilts...I'm now the proud owner of 12 different sets of pipes...(All kinds, Highland, Uilleann, Northumbrian, etc.) All were at least upwards of 500 or 600 dollars at the least...Oh, well...they are all handmade pieces of art as well as wonderful instruments that will hopefully last a lifetime and then some!

not to encourage Bubba's comment but, anyway, Mudmen has a new shirt. Mudmen is on the back, on the front of the guy's shirt there's a bagpipe forming the "o" in "blow me", on the women's there's a bagpipe forming a "q" in "squeeze me". I don't know why I'm telling you this.

Mudmen.ca, the shirts aren't on their site yet.
