    A really cool kilt encounter

So, this morning I had to hike several miles to get to the post office to pick up my Freedom Kilt. (Which is another story) I went as the crow flies. I cut through properties, parking garages, courtyards, and a Catholic School and Church campus area.

I happened to bump in to a priest out praying.

"God bless my soul.. A Scotsman!"

He was actually really cool about the kilt. I was wearing my black hemp kilt from RKilts. He recognised it for what it was no problem. A kilt.

We talked for a bit. We talked about the locals, and he said he could only imagine how well a kilt would go over with the small minded sorts around here. We sat on a retaining wall and chatted for a bit. Mostly about kilts, a little about faith, a tad about not conforming to this world but being tranformed through the renewal of your spirit and your mind... He asked me about my hair too. He said he had half a mind to stop cutting and combing his hair and just let it do as it wills.

As we parted ways, he said something to me that really made my day.

"When God looks down upon you, He is proud. When the Devil looks up at you, he is afraid."

It took me a second to think about this, the priest had this broad grin... A trouble makers grin, very much like mine own.

When God looks down on me He is proud. When the Devil looks up at me, he is afraid... Looks up at me. From below me. In a literal sense of the Devil being down in hell and looking up. Looking up? It took a moment or two, but the idea filtered through my brain, and when it finally did, I almost died laughing.

I had a really good morning.

Edit, Mods, could you please, please fix the title to read a really COOL kilt encounter? I just really screwed up.

That is an amazing story Dread, thank you for sharing it with us. Sounds like a cool priest indeed. So what happened with the Freedom Kilt?

A great day and a great story. Thanks for sharing.

Since the word angel comes from the Greek angelos which simply means, "messenger," I wonder if you may have been entertaining an angel unaware.

That is really cool Dread. But (and you knew it was coming)

Where are the pictures of the new kilt, already!
