Reid Kilts....WOW!

Haven't posted in awhile. I was so burned out and bummin' after my last kilt fiasco, so I wanted to just chill out and not think about kilts for awhile.

Well, I received, today, a Robertson tank from Peter Reid Kilts, at a substantially reduced price. Peter offered to do this, as he was rather upset that the kilt makers, on my last kilt, got things sooooo wrong, especially after three tries. So, Peter wanted me to have this.

I know, pics are in order (my bad), but they'll have to wait till the end of the weekend. All I can say is...WOW!!! This kilt is so much better than my last Robertson. Construction is top notch.... better straps and buckles, more attention to detail, and a wonderful label in side, which is very sophisticated.

So, if you're looking to have a quality kilt made, with a company that has a dedicated, conscientious leader, then I'd seriously consider Reid Kilts. Peter is wonderful to deal with. Customer relations: top notch!!! And he'll "keep you in the loop!"

I have heard nothing but the best of praise for our Mr. Reid. I will have to have a look.

On a completely selfish note: I am SO disappointed that we, as a species (it would seem) are so quick to complain and so reluctant to praise (am I complaining? ). To see someone - anyone! - receive unsolicited praise over and over really says something, not only about him, but also about the ones who offer the praise. I am so glad to see it. It really speaks to the character engendered by this group.

Just to clarify one small thing. There's a difference between a kilt MAKER and a kilt RETAILER. Peter isn't making the kilts, he's 'having them made' as MOST companies do. When you do a bit of digging, there aren't too many companies that actually make the kilts themselves. Most have one of the major 'kilt manufacturing companies' make them. Nothing WRONG with that... it's just different from making them yourself.

Please note... I'm not complaining or praising... being neither negative nor positive. I'm just pointing out a fact and a loosely tossed around word.

So long as the customer is satisfied with the end result (the kilt), then all is right with the world!

Rocky's post to this thread raises an issue to which I have given little thought in the past. In future, however, I will remember this distinction. Kiltmakers, whether commercial or do-it-yourselfers, really do deserve it.
