    Review of ChattanCat kilt

    Greetings,

It i time for me to post the long over-due review of my new ChattanCat (aka. Wallace Cattenach) made custom kilt.

Let me start with this. I am a very particular individual when it comes to things that I buy, especially if they are hand made. I have made a living for twenty years making fine custom blades of many varieties and sizes, precisely because I am very demanding of my own work. So, I expect a lot.

Wally's work on this kilt delivered everything I expected and then some. It is a fine bit of craft, and I do know. I have three kilts from Matt Newsome, and one from Barb Tewksbury, so I knew what to look for.

Sorry about the pictures, a photographer I am not. Note the excellent alignment on the pleating to make it to the sett ! And it hangs perfectly as well. There were abundant basting stitches when it arrived (sorry no pics of that).

    one more

I have been wearing this kilt a lot the last three days and I could not be any happier with it. It fits me perfectly, and is a fine bit of craft as well.

Thanks Wally, for a great kilt !

Cool, it happens to be post 300 too !

    Well hey,

You couldn't have picked a finer tartan either cousin.

Congratulations on the new kilt, it looks wonderful, and as Ron said nice choice of tartan.

The tartan was actually a gift from a fine friend who started out as a sword customer. I don't really have any MacDonald connections, but He said he'd be glad to adopt me into the clan in honor of our friendship. That's enough for me to be proud to wear it. And it sort of "grew on me". At first it seemed terribly busy to my eye, and it is, a bit, compared to many others. But I like it !

Already scheming on the next ChattanCat kilt. If you want to get in line ahead of me, you'd better hurry. I'm already negotiating on more metal work for his accessory kit. I just have to sell him on something BIG, so he owes me kilts for a loooong time
