    RIP Joe

I have just heard the sad news of the death of Joe Kilna Mackenzie. For those of you who have no knowledge of Joe, he was the main man in the Scottish celtic band "Clan An Drumma". The present Mrs Journeyman and myself have spent many happy times listening to Joe and his band at various venues around Scotland. He wore the plaid proudly and produced some wonderful sounds from his drums. His most famous lament is featured in the final battle scenes of the Mel Gibson epic movie "We Were Soldiers". Whether you like the movie or not you have to respect the man who made the sounds....... Take a wee look at the link to youtube, and keep watching as you don't get the full song until half way in......

If you like what you see, and would like to see more try "Googling" Clan An Drumma.

    RIP Joe

Hoist a dram of scotch in his memory.

May he rest in peace. Thanks for letting us know.

    Joe Kilna McKenzie

I had the pleasure of meeting Joe a number of times. A true Scot, and a wonderful guy. He will be sadly missed by all who met him. The only thing I think Joe was wary of was my Golden Eagle, the pictures on the Clann an Drumma website might show this. Some of your You Tube tributes brought a tear to my eye.

He will never be forgotten, Fly high Joe.
